Personally, I would write a very nice letter about your daughter (not about your school) and reach out to her, to see if she may be able to help... possibly by applying any new theories and/or research findings, etc. In preparation for writing that letter, I would review as much of her research as possible, and mention one or two ideas gleaned from her papers in your letter.
It is my understanding that only public schools are obliged to provide special services. Is it possible that the private school is seeking/gathering documentation that your daughter's needs are beyond the scope of services which they are able to provide? Do you have a "Plan B"?
