Resistance to anything different is common. People fear change. But if a solution like homeschooling could work for your child, then I'd say it might be wise to at least consider it, even if you choose not to go that route.
Of course, if you have a good school situation, then staying put may be your best option. But it's never a bad thing to have more than one choice available. Just in case...
