I understand. I can tell you, I had similar feelings when my dd skipped 6th this year. But she has thrived and is doing so well with the skip that they have dissipated. It has allowed her to enjoy school so much more and to keep her childlike love of learning. Also--they can always do a gap year at home before college, right? Good thoughts to you!
