I was on Ravelry and saw that one of the groups had a thread called 'Shameless Self Promotion' - is that allowed here?
Can we have a whole thread where folks talk about their commercial (Humor alert:mercenary?) connections to the gifted world? I have to admit that I do daydream of quitting my day job and spending 40 hours a week helping gifted kids, but somehow, like crochet, I don't think it would be as much fun.
When my son was a baby, I was desperate to figure out a way to stay home with him. I even looked into doing 'Indexing' work (I like to read books too.) I stuck it out, and things got so much better, but I do wish that there were lots and lots of open avenues to making pocket money from home-based, or at least child-friendly based environments.
All the great movements I can think of have a least a small portion of their members doing work-for-money that is community supported.
