It's boy friendly. ...Just FYI, many dysgraphia and dyspraxia experts discourage home row touch typing, recommending an adapted method. Had I know that back then, well, I'm not sure what I would have done. But now that my ds is a homerow touch typer, I don't think I'll mess with it.
