DD11 had this same problem. The worst was watching her cry in front of the cabinet, not being able to decide about a cereal. She was paralyzed by indecision. We read some books together recommended by the guidance counselor and talked a lot about how none of these decisions are permanent or life changing. I don't know if it helped or if she just outgrew it.
