A quick note about homeschooling if you decide to go that route: you can make it as structured or as unstructured as you and your child prefer.

We're eclectic, so there are some things we do that are structured just exactly like school--for example, the homeschool group he meets with once a week for 3 classes with paid teachers! including math homework!--and some that are borderline unschooling (so no structure at all). But "school at home," with a strict schedule, homework and even bells ringing to convey time to change subjects, is completely possible. It's all up to you.

I won't go on and on about it, but if you're considering homeschooling and want to talk specifics, just say the word. I don't push homeschooling on anyone, but I do try to correct myths and misconceptions when I see them. (There are a lot of them!) Lack of structure is a misconception, I'm afraid. smile
