We are expecting #2. Little DD is a crazy little thing in DW - WAAY more active than Mr W was.

For those with >=2 kids, any correlation between this and more or less GTness?

If more means more, and with Mr W taking us on his daily non-stop flight from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm, should we be worried?? shocked

LOL Austin. I have four children all of varying degrees of giftedness and all of varying degrees of activity in utero. In our case there was no correlation between pre-birth activity and giftedness but to activity level...yup. Rest up now. :-)

Congratulations Austin. Everyone is different, but for me my 2nd was much more active than the 1st. Youngest also has a higher IQ. Could be just coincidence.

Here's a strange part. When I was pregnant with each one of the children. If there was a loud noise near me, they would go crazy moving inside me. Six months after the first was born we figured out he had sound sensitivities. Even in the womb, my children couldn't handle loud noises.

Not very reliable results with my sample = 2, but....

DS8 (DYS) was INCREDIBLY active in utero. He's still INCREDIBLY active, so I agree with PP that you should rest up now.

DS6 (not tested) was less active in utero, and is less active than his brother. I'm not sure where he'll end up on the GT spectrum. I'm fairly certain he's at least MG, but he can surprise me sometimes with his insight. He doesn't have the same drive to learn that his brother did since birth, so his level is less obvious.

Congrats! and best wishes. What does Mr. W think of the impending arrival of DD? Older DS nick-named younger DS when I was expecting. It was really sweet.

My first is PG and barely moved at all. With her, I had an anterior placenta and I think that masked a lot of her movement (plus being jammed into a breech position). DS moved like crazy. I can't comment on his giftedness yet.

Our first slept most of the time in utero and continued to after birth, she has always been calm and quiet when compared to others
however..... number 2 was constantly kicking me and doing somersaults etc inside and she is much much much more active than her sister and has no fear of anything now that she's out. (not to mention she sleeps about 1/2 as much as her older sister did at the same age) As far as intelligence goes - she certainly seems to be close to where her sister was at this age, but since she's only 2 we have nothing else to compare her to.

Congratulations to you and you family! It is also pretty normal for women to feel more movement from the 2nd pregnancy because they know what they are looking for. Every pregnancy and baby is different. Bu I still totally agree with 'rest up now' smile

Hey Austin. Congratulations! Got my 2nd due here in a couple of weeks too. This one's definately more hyper. I think it's going to have to be with a big brother around. Just guessing but I believe some thing's will develop faster with #2 because they have somebody to try to keep up with. For example my neice learned to spell well before kindergarten from hearing my brother in law quiz my nephews for their homework. Guessing #1 will always seem a little more mature due to all the extra 1on1 they got with the adults as a baby. There's popular studies about birth order and personality development.

    LOL

Mr W was napping with DW this weekend. He kicked her stomach and DD- went nuts and kicked back. This went back and forth a bit.

DW told me, "Oh Great! Mr W and DD- are already fighting!!"

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.
