We've just returned to Pa from the PG Retreat in Colorado Springs, and cannot recommend it highly enough. This was our first year (we are already signed up for next year, as it was close to selling out this year) and it completely exceeded our expectations. It was a group of 50+ families (just over 200 individuals) with many children ranging principally from 5-6 to 15-16. The Glen Eyrie location is an expanse of beautiful old buildings, courtyards, terraces and lawns for play. The event schedule was well-balanced between classes/activities for children, information programs/sessions and mealtime discussion groups for adults, and free time. Everything was very flexible, you could opt-in to a large selection of very varied activities or opt-out to smaller group project/play. Most of all, the sense of community was amazing! Everyone was so welcoming, warm, relaxed, and supportive. This is a group of people who understand and value each other. It was just fantastic to see our children - esp. our son, who feels his difference most of the time - feel immediately comfortable with and accepted by a group of children who "got" them. We've brought home not only lots of information (from professionals and parents) but, more importantly, friendships (ours and our childrens'). Truly a wonderful gathering!!
