    Hello,
MY ds, age 8, was tested a few months ago at age 7 wink

His WISC-iv results are as follows:
    Composite Scores Summary

    (VCI) 130 98% (121-135) Very Superior
    (PRI) 125 95% (115-131) Superior
    (WMI) 107 68% (99-114) Average
    (PSI) 128 97% (116-134) Superior
    (FSIQ) 130 98% (124-134)Very Superior

I appreciate any input:) I know his results are good, but do they fall in the gifted or profoundly gifted range? I know he is smart and these are just numbers, but it is good to know for school IEP's.
    Thanks,
    Pris

One last question... What are the cuts for gifted, moderately gifted, etc.? Are these scores compatible for Davidson Gifted Youth or comparable programs?

Also, is it worth investigated a Stanford Binet as a better picture of his abilities or another test?

    I appreciate your help smile

Currently we are using a public cyber charter school which is meeting his needs academically at the moment since he is able to accelerate in language arts and math wink

I am glad to have the data.

The reading comprehension surprises me since he is able to give very detailed narrations of history lessons and literature. I find it almost ridiculous what he remembers and he is able to explain things with ease. He also comes out of no where with his knowledge that he acquires in his spare time via reading, reading, reading wink

Also, the math results where surprising since he is whizzing through 3rd grade math and will soon be starting 4th grade math. He can easily add and subtract as well as multiply and divide. He has no problems identifying numbers, inlcuding large numbers. He is also good with mental math that we have done so far with Singapore.

As far as fitting in a regular classroom, I am concerned since around here the gifted programs consist of 1 hour a week pull out starting in grade 3 which is next school year. He is already able to read well into the high school level and understands the material as well. Plus, his interest in science and history is great. Concepts in physics fascinates him. At least for now, we have this option of cyber school for him.

I am pleased and not surprised since his dad has an IQ of 162 and I used to be smart wink

    Thanks,
    pris

Thanks for all your insights smile I think your ideas to re-test at some point in the future is a good idea.

Dottie is the expert! I just wanted to give for comparison our experience with our older uneven child. She had a similar IQ score on the WISC at 7.5, but her scores were much more uneven and the total score didn't reflect what we were seeing in life, so I am not as quick to ascribe the moderately gifted label to her. For instance, her Perceptual reasoning index subtest scores consisted of a 19+, 18, and an 8. Her WJ-III (achievement) scores looked very similar with a few falling at avg and a few at 99.9+. She also was not getting her needs met in school and stood out in GT classes and when accelerated.

While we have not retested IQ, she has had lots of achievement tests done since that time and we have seen some of the uneveness level out as she has gotten older. She still has her strengths and weaknesses, but overall there aren't wild variations btwn the strengths & weaknesses. Like Dottie mentioned, I'd wait a bit before retesting (maybe until he is 9 or 10) and then retest IQ if there seems to be a reason to do so like school isn't fitting as well anymore.
