The reading comprehension surprises me since he is able to give very detailed narrations of history lessons and literature. I find it almost ridiculous what he remembers and he is able to explain things with ease. He also comes out of no where with his knowledge that he acquires in his spare time via reading, reading, reading

Also, the math results where surprising since he is whizzing through 3rd grade math and will soon be starting 4th grade math. He can easily add and subtract as well as multiply and divide. He has no problems identifying numbers, inlcuding large numbers. He is also good with mental math that we have done so far with Singapore.
As far as fitting in a regular classroom, I am concerned since around here the gifted programs consist of 1 hour a week pull out starting in grade 3 which is next school year. He is already able to read well into the high school level and understands the material as well. Plus, his interest in science and history is great. Concepts in physics fascinates him. At least for now, we have this option of cyber school for him.
I am pleased and not surprised since his dad has an IQ of 162 and I used to be smart
Thanks,
