OP delbows Member D Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 778 Midwest	http://www.math.jhu.edu/~wsw/ED/pubver.pdf This small informal study by two JHU math professors partially addresses a question I asked in another math education thread regarding whether or not calculator use is beneficial for K-12 math students. My kids attend two different high schools with two very different philosophies regarding calculator use.

OP delbows Member D Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 778 Midwest	Does anyone know whether selective universities generally allow calculators on their math placement tests for new freshmen? How about specifically for math/science/engineering students? Thanks.
