Also, your local Scout Shop has all kinds of great books and projects that you could supplement with to do things at the "older scout" levels. You can get anything from Cub Scout to Boy Scout books there (including the BS merit badge books which are just interesting reading with project ideas in them) and all kinds of things on woodworking, astronomy, etc. There are also project kits there for building things and carving things. I'm sure, too, that your den leaders would LOVE any suggestions you have for fun things to do with the boys, even if it goes above and beyond what is required of Tigers, especially if you're able to help!

Wolf just joined Tigers. He is in 1st but only 5. Most of the stuff is simple for him, but you can make it harder. Also there is a full pack meeting each month and all the big events (derby, regatta, camps, etc...) are all ages. I'm probably going to be the den leader. I'm the acting one right now.

Check out www.macscouter.com and look at the cub scouts section. They have details on all the stuff the kids can do and earn at each level. Take a special look at the academic pins. They are optional and you can earn them at any level.

Cub Scouts have to be 6 OR in 1st grade to join. Is boy Scouts really 5th AND 10? If so that's going to be a bit annoying.

And does anyone know if they make blue cub scout shirts in XS. I'm having a bit of a time finding one...

Thanks guys for all the great posts - I am glad to hear that we can make this as "difficult" as we like with the activities. Thanks also for all the great links and information!!! We will give it a go and I think he is going to just enjoy all the cool stuff involved:-)
