who suggested Starfall and The Letter Factory. DD is loving them both and it is amazing how fast she is picking up on the sounds. She even told the librarian today that "I am learning to read"

Oh so glad to hear she is enjoying those things :-) My DS6 LOVED the letter factory and starfall :-) Isn't it so much fun when you get to sit back and just watch them be SO excited about learning :-)

I want to thank whomever suggested starfall last year, too!!

Mr W is hitting all the keys now while I work the mouse - sometimes we get started at 6pm and he will stay at it until he cannot think straight then cries when we stop...LOL

oh, DD3.5 LOVES Starfall and the Letter Factory. Another good one is poissonrouge.com -- it's not as entirely academic as Starfall with literacy, but it does help teach a child how to operate a mouse with games for pattern recognition and whatnot.

I have the other Leap Frog videos, but The Letter Factory is by far the best. The Math Circus is horrible -- please do not waste your money. The Talking Words Factory and Storybook Factory are just okay... not horrific like the Math Circus but not awesome like the Letter Factory. You could always check it out at the library first before buying to see if it suits your child.

Poissonrouge.com also does a lot with foreign languages - namely French.
