I apologise for MIA for quite awhile. The family moved , once again to another country in Asia. The kids started a new int'l school just yesterday. Elder Dd11 is happy since she loves school.

Ds9 is the hard nut. He was very upset during Orientation when he realised that the younger kids have no A la carte choice of lunch (unlike his sister). His level is only allowed a choice of Western or Asian meal. When one parent asked for the reason, the Head explained that the younger kids couldn't deal with too many choices and would take too long. This was when ds got really upset! He questioned (me) why the younger kids must always lived with fewer choices. He was so mad because he is one who lives to eat. Lunch time is one of the most important "subject" for him at school. LOL! He has been harping on for past 3 days! While I try to be sympathetic, I also tell him that he is beginning to sound like an old man. I wish I could change it (it didn't help when elder dd came back and said the the a la carte chicken was delicious) but I could only explain that this is how the school operates.
Sometimes I wish that I have what it takes to hs him.

    Thank you! CFK.
He came back yesterday, looking dejected. When asked why, he said he wasn't allowed to borrow a library book because it has a yellow sticker on it, which meant that it is for MS students. He was really mad!!!
I hope today is going to be a "happier" day.

Jeez don't you just hate that whole school library thing - can only take out 2 books a week (so thats the car trip home taken care of, what about the rest of the week). Oh and not those books they are for senior school, but that's his reading level duh. Thankfully my sweetheart has managed to so charm the librarian that now she 'saves' his favorite books for him... but can't bend the 2 book rule, its costing me a fortune - he thought Borders was a 'posh'library, until I made him start buying his own books. smile

    S-T,
Welcome back! Pull up a virtual chair and beverage...moving can be such a stress. Sorry the new school is grating on him. I'm thinking 2 things:
    1) Gradeskip (am I a broken record or what?)
    2) Afterschooling on the weekends, perhaps cooking lessons?
3)Write a note to the school librarian, requesting extended borrowing privileges. That worked in our town.
    4) Does Kindle reach where you are? If so, use it as a bribe for afterschooling (learning to type if he doesn't already know...my DS learned at age 9)

Um, I had better get help with my adding. That's 4 things. Apparently my fingers have more ideas than my brain!
    Love and More Love,
    Grinity
