Ok this is my first ever post here, but I laughed so hard at your posts and already feel at home. smile

My daughter turned 3 on Monday. At her party everyone sang to her, and she started to blow out the candles and then looked up and said "Thank you everyone." It was sweet.

But better yet was yetserday. We took her to the doctor because of a bad spider bite. The Dr. wanted to touch it and she said "You can't touch it or it will become infected. If you just leave it alone, it will probably get better in a couple of days."

Then the Dr. wanted to draw a circle on her to make sure if it was or wasnt getting bigger. She said, "No, you can't write on me....I'm not a piece of paper." And the WAY she said it was hysterical - as if she needed to EXPLAIN to the Dr. that she was, in fact, not a piece of paper. She said it slowly, as if to talk to the Dr. to make sure she understood it.

Finally, at her party, she said, "Mommy, we should get these for the "children", the "children" will like these." haha. She is only 3. (Just TURNED 3!!!) What am I going to do with her? smile

We were walking to DD6's dance recital dress rehearsal today when we saw a father and son riding bikes around on the street. I was expecting a lecture from DD about how they were being unsafe because they didn't have helmets on. However, she completely caught me off guard when she slowed down and said "Hmf - now that is not appropriate at all. You shouldn't be riding around town without a shirt on, what are they thinking?" This led to a discussion about it being ok for males to not wear a shirt, but not for females. To which she said "Well, I still do not think it is appropriate to show everyone in town your body without a shirt on."

DS3 What is this clear stuff in my mouth?
~ It is called spit or saliva
Why is it in my mouth?
~ So your mouth does not get dry, you need it to swallow food and talk.
~ Your wrong, I don't like it and I am going to spit it all out.

A few to share for DD 34 mths:

Going to see Ice Age: "I hope I don't get caught in an Ice Age, burr cold."

In the theater walking down the corridor she looks up and sees the markers for each theater.
    DD: What does it say?
    Mom: It says Hangover.
    DD: I don't like hangovers.
    Mom: No one does kid.
Teenager working there and overhearing the conversation: That is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.

Had lunch with DD after picking her up from "Splash Day" at school.
DD: Is there swimming in school?
Mom repeatedly responding to the question: I don't know. You were there, was there?
DD finally answering Mom's question: Nope.
Mom: NO? you didn't swim at school today?
DD: Nope, I didn't. I swam outside the school not IN the school.

We were trying very hard the other night to get dd3 to behave at the table, asking her to not grab food right off the main platter with her hands, stay in her seat, etc. Finally after much back and forth, she says 'I am not going to be-very-have! I am not going to be-ANY-have at all!!'
I just died laughing, dh was not so amused because dd was definitely not being-any-kind-of-have...

LOL- Love this thread- very cute stories-
    Here's my contribution:

We are in the beginning stages of potty training DS23 mos. We went to the farmer's market Friday where he was observing a horse doing its business...
DS: (LOUDLY) "Well done, horsie!! Good job!!"
    Passersby laughing loudly...

Then DS23 mos had the audacity to blame his gaseous emissions on ME!! He made some little noises, then said, " What was THAT?! Mama's gassy"

Kind of stunned me that he's already starting to tease me- ah the fun of toddler humor when potty training!

    Funny stories!

The other night at bedtime, DD2.5 said, "Mama, you are the best... in the whole wide world you are... YOU ARE A GENIUS!"

(Not a word DH or I use)

The way this week's been going, I needed that! LOL laugh

Seablue- isn't it great when they know *just* the right thing to say smile

The other day DD2.75 was in her carseat counting her fingers-

DD2.75: If you put up 2 fingers, it's two!

    Me: That's very true, baby.

DD2.75: No, Mama, that's very 'two'! (followed by mad cackling at her own joke, lol)

One of my DD4 favorite stories is the three little pigs, about a year ago she was asking what our house was made of. When my DH was explaining that one of the things was wood, she got all excited and said "Oh no! isn't that like sticks?" it took us hours to calm her down.
