We saw it Saturday night - to 'action movie' for me.

Here's a link to another great Onion spoof, though

    We're going on Sunday.

I've heard it's better than the last two or three Star Trek films. (?)

I tried to see it today, but it turned out the newspaper was wrong and they didn't have a 3:30 show, so I have to hope it's being held over. Arrrrgh!

I saw it and enjoyed it. There was a level of predictability that got old after a bit. It was very loud...lots of explosions. But I would see it again.

Had to log in to say, we saw it, and it was totally wicked!! But I am a long time star trek fan from, well, waaaaay back. My dad loved to watch it and most of the kids enjoyed it - so it is a big trip down memory lane for me.
Ds8 loved it too, didn't get some of the old school references, but did launch out of the car when we got home so he could start drawing the enterprise, and now wants his tree house to be shaped like the ship...well, we gotta talk about it a bit. wink

(For littler kids the beginning was pretty intense/scary.)
Now I can feel free to check out the parody Grinity posted...

Saw it today and really enjoyed it. It was good to see them emphasizing storytelling over special effects.

Do you think it would be okay for little ones (5 & 6)?

I don't really think little ones would enjoy it - unless they already also love adult roller coasters - you never know when precosiousness will raise it's head. I was glad to see the stroytelling to the extent that it was there, and the characters, but felt that it was in it's heart an action movie, with lots of chase scenes and things blowing up.

Hm, that might appeal. I'm not sure how they feel about roller coasters - they've never been on one because I'm too much of a chicken to take them.
