I just want to say that I've only been on this forum a few days but reading all of the posts finally makes me feel like I'm not alone. It comforts me to see other parents dealing with the same things that I am. For a long, long time I would watch my son do things and not know a single other kid who did it and reading these forums I see so much of my son in other kids. I want to jump up and down with joy knowing that there are those of you out there that really do get it!

    Thank you!

    Jamie,

Ditto, ditto, ditto to what you said! smile

I stumbled upon this board in January. My gut told me my son was gifted, but I didn't have the numbers yet to "prove" it. I knew of no one else's child that could do what my son could do. Yet, I knew that someone, somewhere had to be going through what I was going through. When I found this board, I was elated! I finally felt, "My son is in the league of all the kids represented on this board." It was such a good feeling, that feeling of not being alone.

So, I too, thank all of you on this board!!

Hi Jamie and welcome! It is a nice place, very supportive and filled with very resourceful people!

I grew up in a very gifted denial family. This place has been very healing for me, I've enjoyed all the wonderful people I've *met* here.

Welcome. I don't know what I'd do without this board. I'd feel even more isolated, depressed and lonely than I already do at times - and I'd sink into it ...and feel even more introverted about it all!!

I find I'm really coming to depend on it--a daily check-in helps me stay feel better about some of the decisions/situations I'm unsure of. Thank you from me also!
