We had an individual visit our school who shared that he used the Slosson Intelligence Test as a screener, and if children did well on that he would send them on to a psych for an IQ test. When I look up the Slosson online, I find quite a bit of information - from the 1970's. When I looked at the assessment, I wonder how it would do for second language learners. If anyone could share their knowledge about it, I would appreciate it.
Our schools is an international school with many of the children speaking English as a second language. We use MAP testing only. Are there any individual assessments which might be used as a screener for potentially gifted students (keeping in mind the language barriers)?
