Well, I'm not sure I get that much credit.
Basically, DS was so very curious about the test and how it worked that it would have taken a great deal of work on my part to prevent him from knowing his scores! So I probably just took the lazy way out.

Either way, though, I haven't seen any harm from going that route and, if anything, I would argue that there has been some benefit.
DS, is an only child, though, so the family dynamics are definitely different.
