I am TTT'ing this thread as it was originally posted in the summer when a lot of readers here may have missed it.

The following document is just amazing (kudos to Aquinas for finding it!):-

    Newfie G&T handbook for teachers

This is ironic in the extreme when you think that this comes from Newfies, people who are basically the butt of all the 'stupid' jokes in Canada LOL

Having said that, perhaps it is why they are trying so hard now ;-)

    Aquinas,

Will squeeze the trigger on this in August. Would appreciate any local info, please.

Madeinuk, I'll ask around and see if anyone I know has contacts or resources in NL as I'm not local.

It looks pretty amazing. Wonder how it works in actuality?

The text seems well written from what I've read of it thus far, as with any GT program / school district though, saying all the right things and painting a good picture is the easy part, actually practicing what that picture paints is where the story usually takes a severe turn for the worse.

If you're like me, you've seen all kinds of educational institutions / state documents that use all the right words and phrases, problem is, they don't practice them most of the time. I can only hope Newfoundland is an exception.
