Yay! My K-er does his homework independently, too. He can read to understand the directions...though sometimes he misses things. But we just fix it after the fact. I think it makes him feel more like a 'big kid'. I also notice he works more carefully when we're not hovering around him. Makes sense, I can't stand someone looking over my shoulder either.
