Hey for anyone totally awed by the amazing rover design of Curiosity, and who loves LEGOs, here is a great project!

Also, this JPL Mechanical Engineer has put together Descent and Crane models as well! Very fun looking projects. smile

Thanks! It's awesome, we think we could do it except for those funky wheel parts. I love that a JPL guy did this, and even made the lander part. I hope Lego makes it.

Very cool. We have a new Bricks & Minifigs store where you can dig through pounds of Lego pieces to find what you want. I'm betting we can find any pieces we don't have.

Lisa, I'll be really interested in hearing if you can! We don't have a Legos store where we live, and when ds found out there was one near his grandmother's town (well, not exactly *near* but within an afternoon's driving distance lol!) he begged and begged to go to it, so we took him the next time we were visiting... and he was really disappointed! He'd made a detailed list before he left of all the specific bricks he wanted (and I don't think they were all that unusual) and the store didn't have any of them.

Our kids did have fun there - they enjoyed building the minifigs and looking at all the different kits smile

What's cool about the store here is that they are not "official" so they buy back Lego pieces and sell pieces, minifigs, etc. The guy told me they literally had hundreds of pounds of Legos in the back room. My kiddo is working on his state fair entry, so we've make a few treks to the store as of late.

Don't forget you can get individual bricks online, too!
