It was not too bad but I do have a few thoughts. First, their style guide says that books with a lot of images don't work well as e-books so I don't know how her book would translate into an e-book if it has lots of images unfortunately. I really kept mine to a major minimum but the one image I put in, although it followed their formatting guidelines (jpeg, etc.) seems to have created an issue where it says that it didn't format perfectly and won't be acceptable to Apple as a result. They have a huge long fix it article on how to go about fixing problems of that sort, but I haven't had time to dig through it yet. I'm really not a programmer!

It doesn't look bad from what I could see when I looked @ the sample chapters, but apparently Apple can be pretty specific. They do have people you can pay to fix formatting errors but I don't know if I am going to make any money on this yet, so I'm not sure if I am going to invest in a format expert as of yet!

Thanks, I'll look into that too. I believe that Smashwords sends their e-books out to Amazon, B&N, etc. as well, but I might need to make it to their "premium" catalog first in order for them to do that. A print edition would be nice, though, since I am probably going to have an easier time formatting something for print than for an e-book. This is my first foray into the field of e-publishing. I have, on the other hand, put together newletters, etc. using desktop publishing software and am much more proficient at things like Qwark XPress!

Last year I wanted to make a knitted or sewed teaset for my daughter for Christmas. I didn't do it last year. This year I decided to knit dishcloths so I could learn how to knit a pattern. Somehow the diamond shape pattern I was trying to knit came out to make a rainbow shape- twice! I think it's similar to how they knit those rosettes they put on the headbands. When I rolled the Rainbow up it made like a tobagan shape, but too small for anybody's head. Since I had it in two colors now (from two attempts at a dishcloth) I sewed them togeather with yarn to make the top and bottom of a teapot. It's not the hottest but I know two kids who will play with it!

I love it--- especially the colors! I bet she will, too.

Great thread. Cricket - you should look into submitting the ePub version to iBooks. If it shows up in their store, it really helps. I'll be buying this for holiday reading for sure!
