Does anyone happen to know of a psychologist in the Indianapolis area who is knowledgable about testing exceptionally/profoundly gifted kids?

There is a good psychologist at Sycamore School. My son was tested there years ago...

Can anyone comment on any of the testers in the Midwest in particular? we are in Indiana and testing this spring, as well.

If you are near Indianapolis the Sycamore School (for gifted kids) may be helpful. Alternatively Ball State has some resources for gifted (we live closer to Indy so have not visited but I've checked it out online).

If you don't mind an hour drive or so, I would highly recommend Dr. Ed Amend. His home office is in Lexington, Ky. However, one day a week he has appointments in his Cincinnati office.

He is outstanding. He frequently is the keynote speaker at national conferences on gifted kids, and has several written books and articles. He truly understands profoundly gifted kids and all of their quirks. And he has an amazing ability with how he interacts with the kids. I really can't say enough wonderful things about him.

Ball State has been non-responsive to inquiries. We are closer to Chicago than Cincinnati, but you are the third recommendation we've gotten for Dr. Ed Amend. Quirks... we have those. Thanks!

I am in the Chicago area. We will be testing over winter break with Dr. Michelle Navarro.

    Make it four!
I like how he is able to create the impression that we parents aren't crazy. Refreshing!
