    Hello all,

I have a few questions about the DYS program. If a child exceeds the required scores are they guaranteed acceptance, or is it on a case by case basis? Second, I know applications go for review on the first, but do they send notification of denial/acceptance at the end of the month or sooner? Is the acceptance is email form? Is the child's school sent a notification?

    I appreciate the help!

There's no guarantee, but as a practical matter I've never heard of someone being denied who was qualified on scores without the need for a portfolio. There's no definite period for getting the acceptance letter; it has on occasion taken longer than a month in the past, but lately seems to be slightly less than a month (i.e. acceptances seem to be sent a few days to a week before the next cycle begins). The acceptances are sent by email. The child's school is not initially sent a notification, but a family consultant may send a letter later offering assistance to the school, if you're not averse to it.
