So after almost half a year of being unable to find books my son 5 would like I have finally finally found something. He is reading at a beginning third grade level and wants pictures with color in his books. He was unwilling to read most chapter books and we were running out of material for him to read. His school has been very accommodating but one in a while he has brought books in appropriate for a 5 year old home despite it being at his level. Well, for those of you who might also have problems finding books for your reader this post might just be a bit helpful for you. The books that finally cinched the deal which I really didn't think he would like are...drum roll please... Geronimo Stilton books. Yeah! It is the first time he has been willingly to read more than asked of him from school (homework requires 15 minutes minimum of reading a day). Lucky for me the series is plentiful! Anyways, I hope this post helps some parents! I would also love further suggestions from parents who have kids like mine.
