I think you mean that his receptive language is greater than what would be expected and that his expressive language appears to be delayed? Is that right?

How old is he? How well does he speak? Have you noticed that something isn't quite right?

When the doctor said "insignificant," could he have made a bad word choice (e.g. could the problem be "minor?")?
