Sorry, I am not answering the question. I just have the same issue. Today I had the first psychologist appointment for my DS and I brought up OEs too. The psych didn't answer me she knew the theory or not but she seemed not considering gifted would contribute a child's behavior problems. DS8 has some traits are similar to ADHD/Aspergers. Those behaviors did cause some troubles when he was young but now they are pretty mild. It's not because the problems are disappeared, he just can manage his behavior much better. The psychologist did have many experience with 2e kids due to in our area there are so many gifted children. When she talked to me, my understanding is she believed the behavior problems are caused by some kind of brain function disorder/disability but not OEs. She hasn't talked to DS yet but I am a little bit worry DS being misdiagnostic.
