but no way would they consider my son for the electives he's more geared towards. Very frustrating to say the least.
I also don't know what will happen once he's in high school. Will all these math, science, and language classes he's taken count toward hs credits since they're hs level? He has an assigned credentialed teacher who means well, but she's never had deal with this situation before, so she's really not too sympathetic. Now, if he were a struggling student, I'm sure that would be a completely different story!
Mam- I'm looking forward to all the helpful advice the DYS community has to offer. It sounds like a true blessing!
At least go through the motions of trying to ask for the electives to be the ones he wants, and starting at the bottom, work you way up the chain of command to see what happens. You can't know unless you try.
Also - I would think that they could assign him a different credentialing teacher, who would be able to provide those answers to those very reasonable questions.
