Without any real planning involved, I set up a repeating reminder on my calendar that simply prompted, "What's DS/DD up to today?" These pop up every six months (used to be every quarter as infants/toddlers).

This turned out to be extremely helpful when completing the DYS application and answering Q's from docs about milestones.
