I took DS7 to this show twice (he's been mad into dinosaurs since he was 1 1/2). I managed to win the second set of tickets in a count-the-dinosaurs-in-the-magazine contest last Christmas.
It's well worth it! He absolutely loved, loved it, and so did I. His brother went the first time and he loved it too. The show is very well done and it's fun to see the life-sized and near-life-sized dinosaurs (I don't think the sauropods are made to full scale).
My biggest piece of advice is to bring earplugs. It's a very loud show.
If you think your son won't get scared, sit kind of close but not too low down. We were at brachiosaurus's eye level the first time and way up high the second time. It was definitely more fun up close.
