Just finished reading I Could Do That! Esther Morris Gets Women the Vote by Linda Arms White. It starts off

"Make tea?" asked Mama. "The older girls do that."
"But I want to learn," said Esther, and she did.

It goes on to describe many other things she was told she couldn't do, and she did, including helping get women the right to vote in Wyoming and becoming the first woman in the country to hold public office.
