In general, her pretend play has always been a thousand times more elaborated and complex than that of most kids I have seen in real life, but when she plays with ND friends she reduces the complexity and adapts to the other child and the mom of her friend thinks I am exaggerating ....
My DD2 was always shy and would claim up around newbies and I always said she is like the WB frog who would sing and dance for the guy, (Hello my baby hello my darling...) than just rib bit for strangers. So I totally get where you are coming from. Thank goodness she is starting to open up some!
