Hi everyone,
WOW! Everyone here has incredible, wonderful, special children. I don't really know at this point if I belong here or not. I have 2 boys 6 and 7 y/o. My DS7 was tested back in April, I have a handful of tests that seem to contradict each other. The only thing that stands out is his reading and comprehension abilities, he reads (at the time of the test)at a 10 y/os level. He also has sound sensitivities, has since birth. He also has speech and language issues. He did thankfully qualify for a 504 program. That's it in a nutshell for DS7.
DS6 has a September birthday. The cut off for my state is Sept.30th for grade placement. The school thought transition would be the best place for him b/c of his age. Well, today they just moved him to first grade. They want to test him in about a month, giving him time to adjust to his new class. Last week the teacher did a quick assessment test on him, he scored in the top of 1st grade abilities. The teacher told me she stopped the test early b/c DS6 was getting fidgety. She said he could have gone a lot higher. DS6 also has sound and touch sensitivities. DS6, I have always known was special since he was 2. I have always said, "that kid will out smart me one day." Maybe, b/c he has been able to lie and lie well since he was 2.(LOL)
