My DD was not that "imaginative" at age 3 but she would stop to chat with anyone she ran into like that, and people were surprised when I said her age because she came across as so articulate. She also routinely called people "honey" when she was age 2-3 which was hilariously funny. Even old guys in biker clothes, or teenage boys...it didn't matter, they were "honey" and she would insert "honey" into sentences when addressing them as much as possible. Shortly after she turned 2 we were at a hotel and she was chatting it up with an old lady in a wheelchair and asked the lady if she could come to the pool and go swimming, calling her "honey" in the process. You get the idea (I rarely called DD "honey" so I'm not sure where that came from). Miss those days.
