The fact that you are in an UMC neighborhood may skew things quite a bit. My district uses a strict 130+ cut-off (although they also have some kind of alternative qualification route for ESL students) and something like 15% of kids in the district are IDed as gifted. Statistically, that doesn't seem quite right, but given where we live, it's probably not far off.

However, some say the RIAS does run high.
