Welcome. We found ourselves throwing away the "What to expect from your baby in the first year" book on day one.

Nap fighting can come from a number of different issues, so it's up to you to get inside your DD's head and figure out where it's coming from.

- Some kids just don't need it.
- Sometimes the pattern is just going to vary, because the different activities that lead to sleep being required were different (slept in/woke early, high/low physical activity, etc.).
- Sometimes it's just about not wanting to end a good time.
- Sometimes "nap time" becomes associated with "punishment."

We found the key to regulating our DD's naps at that age was to be flexible and let her regulate them, because she knows her own body better than we do. If she didn't ask for a nap, or knock out on her own, she'd signal the need through certain behaviors.
