Lorel, thank you! I agree understanding my DS's visual problem has been a huge help to us. He feels so much better about himself knowing that this causes him to have to work harder in certain areas.
I can definitely see where having the ADD diagnosis in school would have been a big help to you. My son has some problems with inattentiveness himself which the vision doctor has said is related to his vision problems, but I'm afraid the inattentiveness has also become part of who he is and isn't going to go away even with the vision therapy. Sounds like you have really been able to figure out how to deal with learning how to focus. I'm trying to figure out such things for him too, although it is hard!! It's great to hear from someone who has been through such things and has gotten things figured out! :-) Gives me hope maybe I'll get there one day myself.
