We did that last year. We met with his teacher and he got a chance to meet her and see his classroom. It helped immensely. We communicated throughout the year and she tried really hard, but she also said he can be so overwhelming. Truer words.
Through the pilot reading program, he worked with two of the three first-grade teachers, so I'm hoping they matched him with one of them. It'll help him and the teacher will know what issues may occur. Letters were sent today, so as soon as I know who it is, I am going to set a meeting with her. You can't talk on Meet the Teacher night, and I do want to build open communication and a strong alliance from the start!
