I'm in the middle of reading a new book that came out "The Dumbing Down of America", I think it is. It has a lot of info about gifted programs in schools and I'm hoping someone in our district actually reads it. If I could I would slip it into the staff lounge.
Loy58, I'm not sure what happened with your phone call or who was calling but the whole thing is exhausting and I hear your frustration. Combine that with a kid who couldn't care less about going to school and I feel like giving up on it. Giving new teacher a chance though.
