Just got back from eye exam, they say my son has convergence insufficiency and saccadic dysfunction. I am not very familiar with the latter. Vision therapy is recommmended. Anyone familiar with this and whether it is a plausible explanation for his performance deficits?
Plausible, yes! Definite,no.
I spoke to the head of a private elementary school once, and asked her how things went for the many kids she has know who did vision therapy. She said it dramatically helped about 50%. That agrees with my gut sense. I wish I had had the nerve to try it, but it would have created giant waves in the marriage.
