It's so interesting to read what others are doing as a challenge. It is amazing how individual they are! It reminds me that I can't expect my son's challenges to look the same as mine.

Passthepotatoes- I have LOTS of ideas! More than I can really use. That is part of the problem for me, I DO a lot of different things. I have trouble with following through with them! But especially difficult for me is standing out. So last year, the hardest thing I have done is start a homeschool group, because that involved me standing up with my idea. But I have really backed away in a lot of ways with that, and most people know I'm involved, but they wouldn't really know I started it, iykwim.

So for me, a challenge is standing up with an idea. Even though I stand out even without telling anyone my ideas.

I think I would like to do something where I earn some money. I haven't worked for about 5 years, and I am way out of practise. That feels scary to me! Of course, with a baby due in a few months, that is fairly unlikely to happen!

In terms of letting her see you learn, it may be something much more small scale that would do plenty. I don't know what your strengths are but picking something you don't already do well - crochet, baking bread, gardening, studying a foreign language online, etc. might be something that is accessible at this point in your life with the other commitments you have going on.

smile Small scale is probably more realistic. I guess I'm bored at the moment too because I am pretty close to housebound. Small scale sounds like more of the same!

Though you did get me thinking, Passthepotatoes, about all the things I quite willingly take on on a very regular basis - trying new recipes, my study, etc. I'm trying to learn some web design at the moment.

Maybe I'm just being a perfectionist about it all wink I probably need to talk about it all with him more often, too, because I don't think i do that.

I love the3 way coming on here always gives me food for thought.

Huh, interesting thread! I honestly find my life way too challenging and would like to just curl up on the couch with a good book. wink DD has shown zero inclinations towards perfectionism (she actually seems to love a challenge) so maybe she gets that from me.

That being said, I'm far from a perfect parent and I really struggle with procrastination. It's gotten a lot worse the older I get (especially now that I don't have strict deadlines like in college!). Most of my life I've been able to write essays or whatever the night before and it's a real struggle for me to get over speed bumps in a project or pay the bills right before they are due etc. I know this is something I need to work on and this thread a good motivation to do that since I really don't want DD picking this up!!!
