Ha Ha Dottie! It's just so amazing to me.
When he was 2, he knew all the shapes, colors, and all the airlines buy their insignia (which he called "emblems"). Then by 3, he knew all the makes and models of cars, and who drove what! We were worried he was on the Autism spectrum.
When he was in the 3 year class room, he teacher shut a metal door on his right middle finger, amputating the tip. It was reattached via surgery (following his ambulance ride to the hospital with school staff)... He developed major anxiety and began using his left hand. We were concerned that he confused as to his handedness, and he had some fine motor delays that were addressed in OT.
This year he has come into himself - He is a true "lefty" and his anxiety is in check. He is affection, kind and sweet. He is really an enjoyable child.
He is sooo tech savvy. He cracked our passwords (by watching us and remembering and we began receiving bills from itunes as he helped himself to songs!
He can use my blackberry and my husbands iphone to text and email with ease. He writes, reads and spells like a 3rd or 4th grader. We had to tell him that he had to say that it was him before writing to people~
Now he is just too cute. He loves to learn and he comes home from school excited and alive with new information. His teacher is AMAZING and I can only hope for teachers like her in his future, as she challenges him and encourages him. I got a call from a parent one day when she was picking her son up early, and my son was sitting in the teacher chair and the kids were in circle and he was reading to the whole class! The other kids are still learning to recognize and write letters!!
So that is him in a nutshell!!!!!!
Thanks for your support! It is truly wonderful to have guidance!!!!!
