I just received this information today and thought I would share. Too bad I don't live anywhere near Florida!

The Galileo School for Gifted Learning is a public charter elementary school in Seminole County, Florida that plans to open in August 2011. Our mission is to offer innovative, research-based education in a nurturing environment for gifted and talented students and those who want to learn in a gifted learning environment that will challenge them to pursue their passionate interests in service to others. We plan to employ 8 full-time faculty members, a full-time school psychologist, and one administrator to serve approximately 150 students in K-5th grade.

    Their website is http://www.galileogiftedschool.org/

We have been following this one closely because we live one county over and it would be a little over an hour drive...the parents that are backing this are SO excited about the opening....we wish we had something like this in our county...we have been homeschooling from K-2 and we would have to get permission from our school board to attend school in a different county...don't know if my son- or myself- would like to be driving an hour one way to school :-) But massive kudos for them for staring this school!!
