From what grade does taking the SAT exams start counting for college.

ie. if the SAT is taken during middle school. Does that count for college?

Would appreciate any replies on this
    Thanks

SAT scores before 9th grade will not be saved on the permanent record unless you make a request for the end of the academic year that they be saved. So, if the question is should you hesitate to allow a middle schooler to take the SAT for fear the scores will look bad for college; the answer is no, don't worry about it.

The scores are recorded starting in ninth grade; however, community colleges will sometimes accept scores from middle schoolers (or younger) as proof that they are capable of handling college classes.

How about 9th grade SATs taken through talent search? Our local talent search, WATS, claims that those scores are also not going to show up on a permanent record, but I don't see anything on SAT's website that would support that.
