*ROFL* These posts are hilarious! No overly large/small heads here, but a Halloween costume to share.

DS8 has been Harry Potter the last two years and wanted a change. He's decided to be a book, but he doesn't want his head and arms sticking out. He wants his face to look out of the illustration on the cover, and then for the cover to open and his face to be an illustration on the first page of the book. You know, something simple. crazy

I'm having a little trouble helping him engineer the idea. We're going to try using a box with a hole cut out, hinged on the side so it swings open. And then on the inside of the box, in front of his body, we're thinking we can put a piece of poster board like the front page. We'll see how it works in real life.

This morning, DS cracked me up. He had told me the book was going to be Lord of the Rings, which he enjoyed but it isn't his favorite book. This past weekend, he devoured the new Rick Riordan book, The Lost Hero. This morning, I asked whether he'd prefer his costume picture that book. In his most exasperated voice, he said, "Mom, I will NOT be a walking advertisement for some new book. Everyone already knows Lord of the Rings, so that will be different."

    I love these kids!

    Happy Haunting, everyone!

I am part of the big head club too with a size 8 1/4 head!!! I went as a gangster for Halloween last year. Needed a hat to top it off but couldn't find one. Searched online and found Lamood Big Hats. Still have the fedora big hat that I got there... http://www.lamoodbighats.com/dress-golf-big-hats/fedora-big-hats.html

My kids and I all have big heads. My DH has a "normal" head. Interesting aside, we have a relative who is a research geneticist. Someone at her university was doing research on a correlation between large head size and autism. They asked her large-headed, non-autistic kid to be part of the control group. Don't know what the outcome of the study was.

I have a huge head, but DH has a tiny one and it looks like DDs have inherited his small head.

As for Halloween - My parents came for a visit a couple of weeks ago and Grammy made DD7 a pumpkin costume - it is great! And it has a custom made small green hat for a stem wink This was the compromise after Grammy couldn't find "just the right fabric" to make DD a spooky tree costume, complete with knots and an owl hole! DD2 is going to be a princess, with a hand me down costume.

Now the only issue is to find a place to trick or treat because we're new to the area and there are no kids in our townhouse complex.
