Now there's a perfect amazon review sound bite! That was how I felt while reading the book as well. I was actually up in the middle of the night 2 nights in a row worrying about all the dear newbie parents of gifties who were taking all this to heart.

This book sounds awful! Just what parents need, more finger pointing and no real suggestive help. I think I will pass on this one.

LOL - you forgot the sad 'endings' after the early days of so much promise.

It's a downer 'for sure.' Not recommended unless you have to defend yourself against it.

Yes sad 'endings' where clearly the parents' lack of or doing too much or anything in between was the culprit for all of it.

Tying this in to the movie "Waiting for Superman" which I haven't seen yet and was looking forward to it until I saw Oprah. Lots of finger pointing going on there. I will be the first to state that school systems have bad teachers just as any industry, but bad teachers is the main and basically only reason for our educational crisis? I don't think so. If anyone does watch the movie please post something on this board. Is the movie as Oprah portrays it or is there more to it?

I think I'll finish the book and post a review on amazon. I have never done that before.

Do, Chrys! Actually there's already a review that made me smile there, along with another one-star review. Make it a consensus :-)

And remember not to bring your umbrella today, because you don't want to cause it to rain!

    Love it!
