    *grin* When I talked to the district-level person about the process, she said that when the legislature wrote the law, it was intended for high school kids who took summer classes, so if they took Algebra I over the summer, they could take Algebra II the next year, without the school requiring they retake it. ("Oh, Algebra I as taught by our district is so unusual that no summer program could cover the material" type thing.)

    So I think that comment is intended to mean "If you took remedial summer school meant for kids who didn't pass the first time around, you probably aren't going to pass the test. If you took it through Duke TIP, you probably are."

    As far as I can tell, the handbook modifications between elementary / middle / high school are almost entirely changes in grade range. The content doesn't change, even for unlikely-based-on-age things.
