Does anyone have advice or experience to share about finding and using a mentor for their taglet? As we are homeschooling we have time and flexibility to do this now. I'm thinking that DS9 might do better with someone 1:1 to focus on math. He did very well when this was the case, briefly, at school with a jr. high math/science teacher. Unfortunately that situation couldn't continue.

There are usually students in college (engineering, mathematics...) who would love to tutor. I would suggest starting there. Perhaps later on, a professor would be a good match. I had a positive experience with that around 13-14.

If you advertise at a college you'll probably find some really nice students wanting to help. We have done well among students of education and psychology (because they are already very interested in unusual kids). Our experience confirms that a college student whose interests match your child's can sometimes motivate them in a way you can't.

We do check references and do a background check on the people we hire.
